Steve C left this review about Slug & Lettuce

This Slug & Lettuce was very busy just after lunch on a recent Saturday afternoon. The clientele was an odd mix of shoppers stopping for lunch and hen parties at the start of their crawls. The music was very loud, which was good as it drowned out all the screeching. The left hand-side had been roped off for diners and there are a few tables under a flight of stairs to the right, I didn’t venture up as that was where the large groups of scantily clad girls were all heading. The bar runs along the rear wall where premium keg is available. This place is a horror show and I was glad to leave.

Graham Coombs left this review about Slug & Lettuce

A big circuit pub on two floors, aimed squarely at the group and girly markets. No real ales, one or two marginally interesting keg but with so much variety in the adjacent places it is best avoided.

never been in one of these and probably never will again. Shiny, modern bar with no decent beer on it. Can imagine it’s packed with the gin, prosecco, cocktail crowd later but tranquil in a morning compared to the Wetherspoons in the station.

Al Bundy left this review about Yates's

A typical Yates's. It wants to be a Wetherspoons but isn't anywhere near as good. This one is a large open plan place with just the 3 handpumps, of which nothing was of interest. Pub ticking off wise its a place to go but otherwise avoid.

Yates's is situated quite close to Leeds train station.
I was well pleased to get in here after a long journey up from Nottingham on a National Express bus.
Once inside there is a fairly large oblong shaped room which runs the width of the pub,the bar faces, there is some comfy bench seating to the left with normal tables and chairs elsewhere plus a few tall tables and stools.
There were two real ales on the bar,i had a drink of GK IPA which went down very quickly,it was also ok,the other beer was Hobgoblin.
The pub was quite busy on my mid Saturday morning visit, with most people having the cheap breakfasts which looked quite nice.
Very loud background music was playing which is not a problem for me.
I have no problem with Yates's these days,it solved two problems very quickly for me.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Yates's

One of two Yates's in the city centre, but this one doesn't even have the benefit of being housed in an interesting building. Covered with adverts for cheap food and drink offers, which obvious work as they enticed me in to get a plateful of sausages and mash at just £1.99 under their 'Monday Madness' promotion. Usual anonymous furniture/decor and slightly edgy atmosphere inside. Just Bombardier (OK, and keenly priced at £2.35) available from the three handpumps.
