The Bedford, Horsham

Charming traditional pub, nestled in the wonderful village of Kislingbury. The home cooked food is extremely generous, so make sure you arrive hungry!! The copious amounts of food can be washed down with a good selection of beers and ales, many of which are changed on a weekly basis.

I like the Bedford! It's a good neighbourhood pub, justifiably popular. Sitting at the back of the station helps. The 'side' bar tends not to be open at quieter times. When it is, you'll find something a little 'continental' (that's probably not quite right - visit yourself and see!). Refurbished 5-6 years ago (and boy, did it need doing), it's all stripy seating, varnished wood and interior design, popular with us older folk. It has a couple of TVs for Sky Sports. If you're after ale, look for the pump clips attached to the shelves behind the bar - the pumps are in... The main bar has a large screen, a pool table and, on a Saturday evening, loud music too. As a result, that's where the young folk tend to hang out. Ales are always in good nick here. There's generally something from one of Horsham's 3 breweries. London Pride is a regular too. Landlord & Doom Bar completed Saturday evenings' selection. Food is available, but isn't really the big deal here. Downsides? There have to be a few. The TVs can be a little loud and it is expensive. Oh yes - £3.30 a pint!
