The Bedford consists of a small bar to the right and a larger L shaped bar to the left. The entire pub was heaving during my recent Saturday afternoon visit that coincided with England v Wales in the Six Nations. There was no room in the larger left hand bar, but I managed to find a seat that faced a couple of televisions in the smaller bar. Standard draught lined the bar, but four hand pumps in the larger bar were drawing Fullers’ London pride, Wells’ Bombardier and Timothy Taylor’s landlord.
The pub almost emptied at the climax of the rugby so I had the opportunity to have a nose around the left hand bar. I found a projector screen and dartboard to the left, plasma screens throughout and pool table to the right.
I enjoyed my visit to this pub and would be a regular if I lived locally.

This is a very large pub situated close to the rear of Horsham station, the exterior is currently painted grey and black which looks rather austere, especially on a dismal rainy day like today. Two rooms inside, the main area is a big L-shaped space to the left of the entrance, this was a quite lively space with two pool tables in use and music playing, although not oppressively. A TV showed tennis, the dartboard was unused at the time but clearly gets some, trophies on a shelf above. To me, most of interest were the mini statues of black jazz musicians here and there and the framed pictures of the genre. Model cars featured over the pool area. There is a juke box, live music is advertised. Lower walls panelled.
The other room is smaller, it was unoccupied unsurprisingly with a tartan carpet and a lime green and orange rather garish colour scheme.
I didn't see any signs of food but the beers were Youngs Bitter, St Austell Tribute, Arundel Sussex Gold with one reversed. I had the Arundel Gold, really not a good drink but not the fault of the pub.
Live Sport shown but a sign said the forthcoming England World Cup games will be ticket only.
An ok pub, bit of a barn but the beer range was decent and I imagine it buzzes a bit of an evening with a few in.

I like the Bedford! It's a good neighbourhood pub, justifiably popular. Sitting at the back of the station helps.

The 'side' bar tends not to be open at quieter times. When it is, you'll find something a little 'continental' (that's probably not quite right - visit yourself and see!). Refurbished 5-6 years ago (and boy, did it need doing), it's all stripy seating, varnished wood and interior design, popular with us older folk. It has a couple of TVs for Sky Sports. If you're after ale, look for the pump clips attached to the shelves behind the bar - the pumps are in...

The main bar has a large screen, a pool table and, on a Saturday evening, loud music too. As a result, that's where the young folk tend to hang out.

Ales are always in good nick here. There's generally something from one of Horsham's 3 breweries. London Pride is a regular too. Landlord & Doom Bar completed Saturday evenings' selection.

Food is available, but isn't really the big deal here.

Downsides? There have to be a few. The TVs can be a little loud and it is expensive. Oh yes - £3.30 a pint!
