Trent House, Newcastle Upon Tyne

A bare, basic, stripped back studenty type of place but with great beer and allegedly a legendary juke box. One long room downstairs with changing room benches and picnic/cafe tables and chairs. There's a pool table in the upstairs room. Deep discounts are given at various times, £2 and even £1 a pint. The beers are all local on the six pulls and quality is very good. When looking for the pub it's easy to think you are in the wrong place as Leazes Lane is in three parts that don't quite line up but head up Leaze Park Road for Queen Victoria Road and you'll find it. A brilliant change to the rather boring pubs on nearby Percy Street.
