Ale Taster, St Neots Town, St. Neots

This place has something of a micro pub vibe being fairly minimalist with beers on stillage. Four ales were on: Rocket Maverick, Rocket Komet, Dunscar Bitter and Shardlow 5 Bells. We found these to be uninspiring and didn't opt for a second although pickled eggs and pork pies are also available.

The Hog and Partridge is set in the back streets and a short walk from the town centre. Once inside there is a single L shaped room which runs to the rear right,the room is bare boarded and the seating is bench type and pew seats and small stools. There was a good choice of real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Long Man Session IPA which was a very nice and well kept beer,the other beers noted were Adnams Mosaic,Cambridge Black,Adnams Ghostship and Grainstore Ten Fifty. There are lots of boardgames available. This is a decent pub with a good choice of real ales,just a shame it was empty on our Saturday afternoon visit and it also looked like it was up for sale,so its future now seems in doubt.
