The Starman, Mayfair, W1

Big place with two bars. There was nobody in on Monday afternoon and I was about to leave when a barman appeared from somewhere. No real ale of course and nothing to recommend it. I was glad to leave in the end!

Before a couple of Friday's ago I don't think that I had ever entered here sober and I certainly hadn't been for 8 years. The main floor of the pub has a bar running down one side of it and a limited amount of seating dotted around. There is a dance floor at the back of the pub and some covered seating outside by the entrance. There is a VIP room, next to the toilet downstairs, which used to be another dance floor. There is plenty of lager to choose from, but not a lot else. If it is anything like it used to be in the evenings it will be rammed and the queue for the bar will be long. This is not really my scene anymore, so I think that I'll leave it to the teeny boppers!
