Crown & Anchor, WC2

The Crown and Anchor was quieter than its peers late on Saturday afternoon, which was good as I was able to find somewhere comfortable to stand. Available from the bar on the rear wall were three mainstream ales alongside a standard keg range and San Miguel. The weather was clement so I was going to join the crowd who had gathered on the path out the front, but the friendly barmaid informed me that this would mean drinking out of a plastic vessel - No thanks. As pubs go I found this one to be fairly unremarkable so I wouldn’t make a special trip to visit again.

Well lit pub but not a patch on the Cross Keys round the corner. A huge increase in the price of ale and food. The Hobgoblin tasted OK, though.
