The Eagle Tavern, Rochester

Rather uninspiring single room pub situated on the High Street. The furnishings and decor are quite minimal and nondescript but there are 3 decent enough Ales - Doom Bar, Tribute and Rev James however they seem wasted in such drab surroundings. A low stage area in the corner hosts live jazz and comedy sessions and there is a decent looking beer garden with good views of part of the old City Walls which is probably preferable to sitting inside if the weather allows. In a delightful city such as Rochester, there are many far better pubs within spewing distance and the Eagle is probably best done as a single pinter on a crawl.
