The Angel of Bow

The Angel of Bow

E3London (Central)

Recommended by Rex Rattus

This is a high street bar, with little to recommend it. But I had some hope on approaching it when I could just see over a car to the top of an 'A' board which said "Real....". Real ale? No such luck, it was advertising the Real Madrid v Barcelona ma... [more>]

This is an old Victorian Truman’s pub that retains two bars (the old Saloon Bar was not in use during my visit) and still has some original features such as the vestiges of the wooden screening containing some etched/cut glass, and the “Saloon Bar” i... [more>]
The Glyn Arms

The Glyn Arms

E5London (Central)

Recommended by Rex Rattus

There’s no real ale here, and no sign of food. In fact not much sign of anything, other than a pool table and bogstandard lagers. The barmaid was really friendly though, and that’s a big plus in my book, and in her case, working in this pub, must be ... [more>]

The Fox Inn

The Fox Inn

AndoverHampshire

Cream coloured old building, a little off the beaten track. Lacks much olde worlde charm inside though, looks like a recent refurbishment and nearly the entire interior was set for formal dining. Three rooms, with an attractive leaded fox pane in the... [more>]
The Cricketers Arms

The Cricketers Arms

AndoverHampshire

A high central bar dominates the interior, with narrow drinking areas surrounding and low ceilings. Nice bric-a-brac and the ornate wooden board above the bar depicting various cricket legends of yore (replete with embossed heads) was a talking point... [more>]
