The Thomas Waghorn (JD Wetherspoon) Recommended by E TA |
Formerly The Old Post Office, this former late-Victorian post office has been opened out to form a large central bar and a couple of smaller, cosier areas over two floors. There is also a shaded garden at the side. The conversion has been done well... [more>]

A large narrow Wethers. 20 handpumps but how many are 'available soon' probably changes daily. A very good selection today and a very busy place on this Monday afternoon. Its similar to a lot of Wethers with no real items of interest apart from the n... [more>]

Skiddle-aye-dee Irish themed pub. A U-shaped bar and interior. Wooden, stone and tiled floor inside and usual Irish decorations throughout. There is one handpump on the bar but its unused. Its a decent enough place for a drink but not great.

Small, thin pub with bar running along one long wall, padded leather benches on opposite wall with tall tables & stools inbetween. Dark red ceiling and a few mirrors & subdued lighting, despite a few rips in the seats it feels comfortable. 8 real a... [more>]

Rather plain version of a Nicholsons, light neutral walls. Close to Picadilly & The Ritz. The beer is well kept but its a totally uninteresting building & bland offering.

A hotel bar apparently but its very much a pub. 7 handpumps with Deuchars, Abbott and beers from Holdens, Burton Bridge and Bathams on this visit. Bare brick and a solid wooden bar make the place feel like a country pub. I liked it.

A live music pub that seems to lean on the rock side. The pub is a traditional style pub that stretches back and has 3 rooms but with a lot of pictures of music bands. No Half Man Half Biscuit pictures or Sonic Youth which was disappointing. The 3 ha... [more>]

A massive barn of a place. As the name suggests its a sports bar. There's approximately 1,375 tellies so you won't miss a second of the footy. Lots of sporty memorabilia dotted around and it was nice to see the local team rather than some far off tea... [more>]

A nice interior in an old building. A separate bar and lounge with a beer garden at the front. There are craft beers (Such as Kopparberg)for 2 bottles or cans for £5.00, plus plenty off offers on shots & cocktails. There is Greene King IPA & Thwaites... [more>]

What looks like a very small Wethers on entering is actually not so. Depending on which entrance you use you will find the bar to your, right if you use the side entrance or ahead of you if you use the front. Its basically a 3 area pub with a conserv... [more>]

A large open plan barn. 6 handpumps still on the bar but only 3 on today with Salopian Lemon Dream, Burton Bitter and Tetley Gold on. It seemed very popular with the older generation this afternoon. Its a fairly average place. A pool table is to the ... [more>]

There are loads of these places everywhere, cheap, cheerful, crap ale, karaoke, for mingebags only.

A one roomed pub but with an upper balcony reached via a spiral staircase. Whether there are other parts to this pub I didn't notice. 4 handpumps on the bar but only But on Bitter and Mild on. Some gay literature dotted around so it may or not be a g... [more>]

The one large L shaped room is nicely decorated with lots of wood and pictures along with a mable look figure or two. Lots of hop bines around the ceiling and walls. Some very comfy chairs in the corners make for a very pleasant pub. Reasonably busy ... [more>]

A 2 roomed pub. A nice exterior but a very disappointing interior. I only went in the front room and if, according to previous reviews, this is the larger room then the back room must be tiny. The front room is just a small bar. Its a well worn room ... [more>] |
