As previously described a cellar bar or micro under the Albert Hotel, pump clip and music poster and stuff decor. Long and thin the furnishings are sofas and banquettes down one side with the counter and an under stairs cubby hole with table. Each table had a tea light in an handled half pint glass and there’s an interesting toilet arrangement at the front. Four pulls of small brewery stuff, a T-Bar of four unusuals plus a pin of Paulaner on the counter top, a row of empty pins were lined up where the foot rail should be. I had a Dunham Massey beer which was one of them tasting of geraniums but otherwise pretty good so I’ll agree with the GBG2023 entry. Bottled beers shown on the menu were mostly Belgian (Chouffe, Westmalle, Chimay, Carolus, Rochfort, Orval) with a few from Palaner and proper Budweiser.
The red curtains were open and a similarly furnished snug lay open, disco lights going at 3 in the afternoon, with a mad mix of music as Quinno says, Gene Kelly then Louis Armstrong then the Doors, then “never on a Tuesday”. Something was lurking in there at the back; possibly “special stuff”. Most odd.

Subterranean bar under a hotel and somewhat eclectic, to the point of feeling like you’re in a League of Gentleman skit. Two rooms, enter to the main burgundy bar and then, behind curtains, a mini-Phoenix Club style lounge with disco lights with a very spasmodic music choice, George Formby to Spice Girls to New Order to the Only Fools & Horses theme in four tracks. Two cask on, both loopy juice abvs, 5.5% and 7.5%. My Clay Brow Lysa was over-vented but drinkable (NBSS 2.5). The other beer being drunk by the adjacent table looked like a horror, so glad I avoided it. There were also some bottles which I failed to make a mental note of. Strange all-round, check it out for yourself…

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Albert's Ale Microbar

Inconspicuous little basement bar / micro-pub beneath a very ordinary looking hotel (indeed, I walked right past it first time...). Limited amount of mixed furniture - mostly padded red benches, chairs and stools - so plenty of room to stand (if you are so inclined), and decor that wouldn't look out of place in 100 of other Blackpool establishments. However, what makes it stand out is the emphasis on real ale, with Crankshaft Fishwicks, Bank Top Flat Cap (£3.20) and Snowhill Porter on handpump plus Beer Bros Gold on gravity along with a couple of ciders.
