Previously The Alice Springs Cafe, the interior is well described by BF, below, and I would add that they have paved part of the floor with pebbles for that authentic beach feel. Provided your idea of a beach is a concrete one with regularly distributed pebbles. It has become rather grubby and unappealing, even to the young and particularly to the trendy to which BobOs refers below. The only other customers this visit was a group of nursing mothers preparing the next generation of flotsam for the realities of life on the dole. There was still the solitary pump with a Doombar clip, but the beer was off and no replacement forthcoming. The barmaid was friendly enough, but the barman was rather nasty and aggressive. Not somewhere to get washed up.

Someone has spent a lot of money here,it's a young persons bar with a large decking area to the front.Inside it's open plan with an L shaped interior with a very long bar and a stage on the shorter stub.Flags decorate the ceilings, there are a series of sofas opposite the bar and a lot of room for vertical drinking.Live music ,open mics, screens showing music channel and monthly comedy nights (entrance fee),there was a single handpump for Doom Bar (predictably dull, served in a plastic mug,£3.90)
Serves a different market to my tastes I would expect it to be lively later in the night.

Haunt of the young and trendy - alas I no longer fit either category so have only entered once. I wasn't over-impressed.
