A smart pub at the side of the road on the edge of Whaley Bridge. Inside there are modern furnishings, curtains and objets d'art, and a bar counter with beers from three different breweries. (This is a former Robinsons pub.) I swerved the Wainwright and the Moorhouses and went for the more local Bosley Cloud from Macclesfield's Storm Brewery. I arrived here just after 4:15 on a Saturday (the licensee told me he opens at 2pm but has a sign in the window stating 4) and stayed long enough to see the football results on the TV, during which time my pint deteriorated from NBSS 3 to a mediocre 2.5. Should have had just a half.

After many changes of tenant since the previous review, Robinson's finally gave up on the Board and it was sold at auction in the spring of 2012. It is expected to re-open as a free house in the Autumn.
