Blue Scrumpy left this review about The Silk Mill

The Silk Mill is a large establishment not too far from the station. We had one hour between changing trains, which gave us plenty of time for a couple of drinks.

A former Wetherspoon's, there is plenty of seating here and there are lots of TV screens for showing sport. 3 real ales were on - Sharp's Doom Bar, Byatt's Coventry Bitter & Silhill Gold Star. Boxed ciders from Lilley's can be found in the fridges. These were Pineapple Cider, Pear & Raspberry Cider, Somerset Scrumpy, Mango Cider, Cherries & Berries, Crazy Goat, Raspberry Mojito, Pina Colada & Woohoo.

Aqualung . left this review about The William White (Lloyds No1)

Believe it or not this place is named after Larry Grayson, that being his stage name. It's all very modern and is a rather dark single room with a low ceiling and island bar.
The rear five hand pumps had two unused, two available soon leaving just Abbot. The front five had one available soon, the JDW Trio Of Doom and Arkell's Kingsdown. I went for the Kingsdown (£2.45) which was nowhere near as good as tried in another JDW a few days earlier. I'm not sure how they came to that price either as their standard guest price on the menu says from £2.15 so a premium guest should be £2.29. There is still a banner on the wall outside saying "Guest Ales From £1.99" so the whole place seems to be something of a shambles. Just one available guest on a Friday afternoon is pathetic even for a Lloyds.
I thought this one was a right load of William White.

Soup Dragon left this review about The William White (Lloyds No1)

This is a riverside detached Lloyds No1 Spoosy pub/eatery. It is a modern building, amazingly dreary, in undressed brown brick, excepting the glass frontage. There is a patio area. The interior has an open room with a central island serving bar. There is a raised area one side and a dance floor with a DJ booth, the other. I am not sure what the building's former purpose was. The decor is the different wall colour scheme, with mustard, brown, green, black, grey and wood. There are a few old photos and info boards on the walls. There are the usual silent TVs and there was some charty background music at a decent level. The service was fine and the clientele was the usual mix of a Spoons. The food was OK, a bit of cold mash on my Sunday roast. Beer; usual stuff with the usual handpulls along with about 4 others. I had an exceptable Adnam's Broadside. All in all, OK i guess.
