Another great experience! The standard is even better, food and beer superb. Almost worth moving to Netherhampton just to have it as a local! Charming staff, great beer and good food.

On a recent visit, fortunately a local stopped me walking out, as all the pump clips were turned round. Apparently it's to show customers at the garden hatch what's on offer! In spite of this rather misleading policy, truly wonderful beers were on offer. The beers are constantly changing, so there is usually something new to try! Very good food, and although it might appear a little pretentious (there was a small but loud group of 'Hooray Henries' present on my last visit), the staff are extremely friendly as are most of the locals.

a mid-16th Century thatched country freehouse between Salisbury and Wilton set in a building which can be dated to around 1540-ish, in a small hamelt and bordered by a working farm. The bar rambles a bit and has character which is complemented by a log fire, uneven flag floors and original beams. There is a large enclosed garden to the rear, and dogs are welcomed. There is a regualr pub quiz on alternate Tuesdays. Good quality home-cooked food is usually available. Four ales on, this time I had fff Autumn Daze, beautifully kept, which I followed with a Black Rat cider. Definitely worth coming to for an evening, a meal or just a pint when passing.
