The Horseshoe is a very popular former home ales pub situated right next to Bullwells central tram stop. The pub has slightly odd opening times opening every day at 9:00am and closing at 9:00pm except for weekends when it is open until 10:00 pm. The 9:00 early opening might not seem so strange in today’s world of Wetherspoons with breakfast deals but a sudden realisation comes over you when you realise this food doesn’t do food and all the reason it is filled to the rafters at that time is because people are drinking. As you might expect this like pretty much all of the pubs in the surrounding area this place is filled with its fair share of desirable types and seems to get the lion’s share of its trade from early doors until about mid-afternoon before dying in off a bit in the evenings. My friend once happened to quietly point out that we were the only two in the beer garden without a neck tattoo and/or a full set of teeth, take of that what you will. The pub has a few separate rooms that have been knocked through a bit but it still retains a separate feel. The main bar room is through the front entrance and is in a classic 70’s style with carpets and wood paneling although the exterior has had some modernisation over recent years and some new outside rendering. As you might expect the beer selection was exclusively keg and no surprises at all except for a chestnut mild which I had for a reasonable £2.60 and it was decent enough. We sat just off the main bar at an open up seating area where there was just a lone old man who had fallen sleep. Overall just a standard rough round the edges boozer like most in Bullwell but was fairly quiet on my recent visit but dos attract some characters. There is really no reason to ever venture here unless you feel compelled to tick it off.

The Horseshoe is an old looking pub that is close to the river leen and is very handy if waiting for a train or tram as the station is very close by.
Once inside there were a few different rooms and the pub had an olde worlde feel to it,the pub used to be an Home Ales tied house and there were two real ales on here the Home mild and bitter were very nice drinks here.
I quite liked this pub but i hav'nt been in for a long time so i am not sure what beers are on or what the inside now looks like.
