Requested be closed with reason - For sale: Tried calling in yesterday lunchtime before a cold Dartmoor hike. Doors barred, Christmas decorations still up, and an abandoned mop and bucket in an otherwise empty bar area. Whatpub advised that it should have been open half an hour at this point. To let signs prominent.

This Pub is well worth a visit, especially if you enjoy the beautiful side of Dartmoor, good ale, a glowing wood-burner in the bar, and local devon steaks in the restaurant. We particularly enjoyed the boozie pudding, and a lovely apple and peach crumble with thick clotted cream. There is an exhibition of original art by Dartmoor artists, and on wednesdays there's a really good live music night.
