Got to worry about how much longer this will remain, if my visit is anything to go by.

Friday night, about 9pm and just two other punters in. They cannot be covering the heating bills, let alone the wages.

A shame, as this is an untouched heritage pub - wit a front and rear room, joined by a central bar.

Theakstons Original in fine condition - worthy of the GBG2023 entry.

The Queens Arms is located just off the railway bridge on the other side of the road to Patricroft Station. I popped in on Monday evening just after the dart team had left for an away match, meaning that it was just me and the landlord. This made it a little difficult to have a proper gander around the pub without looking like I was casing the joint. I counted four hand pumps alongside a limited standard keg range on the counter in the front bar area located to the left of the entrance. On the wall to the left of the bar is a dartboard and the governor was kind enough to enlighten me on the history of the Manchester board. To the right of the entrance is a snug and there are more small seating rooms at the rear.
Out the front of the pub area a few picnic tables with views of the car park and a steel fence that runs along a path adjacent to the railway line. Yes it was quite, but I liked the pub and would have no issue returning.

The Queens Arms , is a small but unique pub, It was originally built ajoining the Patricroft railway station in 1838, so as to allow the travellers on the Manchester to Liverpool Railway line to partake in refreshments etc; although it has altered over the years, it still maintains its orginallity. It has not been modernised, and it will take you back a number of years as pubs go.The current tenants are Chris and Lyn, they have been there over 16/17 years. The special feature of the pub is on Thursday nights, when Chris re-unites with a couple of his old group members of "The Images" from the sixties, and play the music of that era. at approx; 9pm till late. Unforunately the pub like many others is suffering in these economic times, and does not open at lunch times.
