The Atlas advertises itself as a pub and kitchen and the menu has an Italian theme with mains that are priced between £7 and £11. Located on the busy Shoreham Road there is a car park out the front and the entrance to the bar area is located to the left of this large building. Standard draught is available and the two hand pumps were drawing Tribute ad WJ King’s Brighton Best. There is a plasma screen either end of the bar area and the one in the right hand side was airing an Italian soap which the management were watching by an open fire. There is also a bar billiards table in this area and a weekly quiz is advertised for Sundays evenings. I was the only customer on the recent midweek evening that I visited so there was little atmosphere and the décor and furnishings added little to the mix.
A door to the right of the bar leads to another area that I took to be a restaurant and there is an advertised large beer garden to the rear that I didn’t visit on this occasion.

The service was polite, but I prefer a proper pub rather than a pub restaurant café combo. I wouldn’t be put out if I didn’t visit here again anytime soon.
