Steve C left this review about Ancient Mariner

The Ancient Mariner is a corner pub with seating on raised decking that stretches around both sides of the pub. The bar area is L shaped and to the left is another area that is home to some sofa seating and a door that leads to a smoking area and garden that I did not visit during my recent Tuesday evening visit. Standard and premium draught products are available and the bar supports five hand pumps. One of these was unused so the cask options were WJ King’s Brighton Blonde, Arundel’s Sussex Giant, Laines Best, and Thatcher’s Heritage cider. Food is served all day and the mains are priced around the £10 mark. Live music was advertised for the upcoming Saturday evening (not sure if a regular occurrence) and there is a regular quiz every Monday from 20:00. I didn’t spot any televisions, but the music was very loud for a quarter full pub on a midweek evening.

This is a pleasant enough place and I’d return without hesitation.
