We passed a No. 3 pub on the way to No. 4. It seems that Blackpool has a few pubs that lack originality in their names, with there also being a No. 10 and a No. 13!

This is a Thwaites pub up a bit of a slope from the seashore on the way out of town. Despite it being out of the centre, it was doing a roaring trade on our Tuesday afternoon visit. Wainwright is a regular beer here. The guest beer was Thwaites Mellor Mango, which didn't quite hit the spot.

Quite a few people were in for food, with the barmaid struggling to cope with taking both drinks and food orders. The interior was quite comfortable and featured a number of TV screens. Children are welcome.

Although this pub is situated about a mile inland from the North Pier, it is well worth seeking out. (There is a bus stop directly outside.) Good food served and the real ales are second to none. Anytime I have been there the ales have been in top class condition. They really know how to keep a first class cellar. This one is a little way off the main Blackpool front and we found it was very quiet when we went. Liked the layout of different levels within the one big room area. Thwaites house, and we enjoyed their Hops and Kisses ale. Beer on all 4 handpulls.
