I visited this pub completely at random having no idea what to expect. It's a split level single room with the main bar area at the top. The floor is wooden and it wasn't that busy on my Friday morning visit. There were some TV screens on but with the sound off.
There are two sets of three hand pumps that had four Navigation beers (Splendor, Rebel, New Dawn & Saviour), Doom Bore and Fernandes Chinook. I went for the Fernandes beer (£3.80) which was excellent but expensive. The beer quality was a real bonus on a hot day.
This place was better than I expected it to be from outside.

The Cross Keys was a Bass tied house when i first went in it with keg Bass products on the bar.
We visit this pub quite often,so i thought i would do an updated review.
Once inside there is a single L shaped room with the bar facing, the floor is carpeted and the seating comfy bench type and normal tables and chairs, the rear left side is down one step and seems to be popular with diners.
There were five real ales on the bar on my recent visit,i had a drink of Navigation Golden Anchor, which was a very nice drink, the other real ales were Navigation Apus,Navigation Britannia,Navigation New Dawn Pale and a guest beer Everards Tight Head.
A very pleasant pub to have a drink in and the food is also quite good here.

Located on a busy main road in the heart of Town is the Cross Keys, a navigation brewery Pub that has always had a good following because of its location and gets very busy, especially weekends. The pub is on two levels with the main bar in front of you as you enter with seating around it and further seating down a few steps on the lower level. The pub, although modernised over the years retains some nice original features and has the feel of a London corner boozer that has been modernised a bit and is quite a nice place to be. Things go downhill when you get to the bar. Seven hand pulls available and a large number of navigation “craft beers” but obviously being a navigation pub all the hand pull were from the brewery except Doomber (WHY?!?!). A couple were not in use and still scared from my visit to their brewery tap before a football game a few hour before I reluctantly ordered the same beer, Brittaina Bitter at 10p more than their tap at £2.80 but still a very good price for the centre of town…….CRAP! Having given the benefit of the doubt at the Brewery tap there is now non longer an excuse, navigation make horrible beer and/or do not keep it in a very good condition. Many friends have said the same and although I never like to let instances such as this usually tarnish the reputation of a brewery in my mind I have decided that their offerings are poor. Past reviews have been relatively positive towards the beers on offer but these were several years ago, I can now only assume that the Brewery has gone through some drastic changes (much for the worse) as I will try my best in future to avoid Navigation beers and their pubs.really a 6.5
