This particular Black Bull sits on the edge of the now trendy Merchant City area. It's a small, traditional style Scottish pub, unpretentious but pleasant, with wooden floors and old city pictures decorating the walls. Prices here are much lower than in some of the nearby pubs, with Caledonia Best selling at £2.90. Guinness, Strongbow cider and Carling and Tennent's lagers are also on draught.

Popped into this pub for the first time last week (January 2014) - wasn't sure what to expect as it sits on the cusp of the trendy Merchant city (near the over trendy Babbity Bowster) but sits at the bottom of High Street. Inside the bar is in a "U" shape with a small but well stocked bar in the middle with seating either side. Traditional dark wood pub with 2 TVs (showing football) a glass cabinet with golf and fishing cups etc won by the pub and a large stuffed fish on the wall also. Beer selection was ok but no real ales (well none when I was there at least) but it was a bit pricey (probably as its located more on the Merchant City side) locals and bar staff were really friendly and were having a hysterical conversation about the afterlife, old age and fishing - nice cosy pub worth a visit if in the area.
