I thought here’s a classic estate pub when I read about it but it’s a wood clad two bar, single storey pub. I chose the left hand bar, furnished with banquette seating at rectangular wooden/cast iron based tables, fancy Axminster style carpet. Big, big screen on the only solid wall, windows each side and there’s a servery on the right hand side wall. Charming pub dog and old bloke punters on my Friday afternoon visit. The servery is linked through to the right hand bar. Three hand pumps in the lounge, Wadworths 6X on one the others with reversed Theakstons Best clips. The 6X wasn’t in bad nick. There’s a rear corridor linking the two bars and it contains the usual offices and machines. The other bar is decidedly a public and has three pulls and a solo keg, big screen but not a big as the lounge.

The Beacon is a smart well kept estate pub that is in a residential area between Bramley and Stanningley.
Once inside there is an oblong shaped lounge to the left, the room is carpeted and has comfy bench seating and small stools, there is a small TV to the left which was not on on my Saturday dinner visit.
There is a separate bar to the right which is smaller and has a tiled floor and bench seating, this room was empty.
There were two real ales on the bar,i had a drink of John Smiths Cask which was a nice drink, the other beer was Doom Bar.
Background music was playing and there was a decent crowd of locals in the lounge.
This is a very pleasant pub to have a drink in.
