Update: The pub no longer does real ale. Dartboard in the pool room.
******************
Apr 2013 Update: well, the pub closed again. It has again reopened - this time with a white exterior. The arrangement of the rooms is still the same. The decor has become red, white and a few odd coloured walls; blue and brown, for example. Old photos of Bloko adorn the walls, supplied by the Local History Centre. The dart board has gone, put the pool table is back in the back room, where it used to be. The TVs were still there with the racing still on. Service was fine and the place has the same local clientele. Beer has changed, there are now 3 handpulls. The one with GK IPA was turned around, the others were Pedigree and Clark's Classic Blonde - which was OK, despite being a little cloudy. I shall keep an eye on it now it has proper beer!

CLOSED for a little while and has now re-opened:

An early 20th century detached cottage styled pub on the site of an earlier build, near to the site of the former Bloxwich Brewery. It has a front, side-entrance and a beer garden. It has just had a revamp and now has a tidier green frontage.

The interior has two rooms, with a central serving bar. The main room sweeps around the bar and has two areas now. The main front area is in red and white, with red ceiling and wood floor. There is a gold fireplace and a few local photos on the walls. There is a flat screen TV, which was showing some general TV and no music, though there is a juke-box. The rear part of this room is now in green and white, also with a few phots and has the gaming machines. There is a small lounge, which used to be a pool room and now is again – but also has the dart board now. The decor is grey and coffee coloured wood panel, with laminate flooring. There are a few prints of plants on the walls. The service is always friendly enough at my visits and the clientele often mixed, though it tends to be locals.

The beer: tap stuff only, no real ale, with Banks's MILD smooth. I had a Boddington’s keg bitter shandy.

Pop in infrequently, just to see how it is, but not a regular visiting place by any means, as it never has real ale.

Alan Winfield left this review about Spring Cottage

The Spring Cottage is just off the town centre and it looks like a proper old pub from the outside, there were a couple of rooms in this pub i went in the room at the front which looked the bigger one, this was a decent enough room to have a drink in and there were two real ales on the bar i had a drink of Banks's mild and this was a decent drink.
