Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The William Webb Ellis

Modernised pub given a substantial refurbishment, both inside and out, and mostly in different shades of green. Semi-modern furniture in the various seating / dining areas in a overall 'L'-shaped layout around the bar. What does make the place stand out, however, is the amount of - although hardly unexpected, given its name and location - rugby pictures and memorabilia about the walls. Also has some tables out on the pavement and a patio area to the rear. Four real ales on handpump: EPA, Banks's Bitter and Pedigree from Marston's plus Wainwright (£3.30).

A fairly standard, but very popular Marston's pub on the outskirts of the town centre. Very busy on my Friday, late afternoon visit. Two poker tables on the go and lots of people watching football on the large screens. There's also a dart board and a quiz machine. There's seating outside at the front on the very busy main road, apparently there's also a beer garden that I didn't visit. There are 4 handpumps with just the 2 beers on which were Pedigree and Banks's Bitter. The Pedigree was in decent condition. A good solid locals pub, but nothing to go out of your way for in a town like Rugby.

The William Webb Ellis is situated on what seems like a large traffic island that has cars bombing round constantly.
I liked the look of this pub from the outside,it reminded me of pubs in Yarmouth and Blackpool in the 80s.
Once inside there is a decent sized L shaped room, the serving bar was to the rear, there was comfy bench seating in bays to the rear right, with normal tables and chairs to the front right, the front left was part bare boarded and carpeted.
The pub still has its old Banks's signs outside and there was a Banks's real ale on the bar,i had a drink of Banks's bitter which went down well, the other beer was Pedigree.
There was some decent background music playing, the TV was showing cricket.
I was quite happy drinking in this pub.
