Another fairly generic Wethers. A long single room with the bar to your right on entering from the High St. 10 handpumps and once you took out the doubled up 3 Wethers usuals you are left with a poor selection of beers today. Its virtually identical to the other Wethers in the town so whichever one you visit first expect to see the same in the other.

This is a long narrow Spoons that extends between Sheep Street and the High Street, although the Sheep Street doors are closed at 19:00 which may be an indication that it's worth avoiding after that time.
Inside it's quite dark with the only natural light coming from the doors at either end and the artificial light coming from numerous ceiling lights plus a few assorted lamps hanging from the ceiling. There are the usual mix of tables and chairs and a few booths on the opposite side from the bar. It dates from Summer 2009. It was fairly quiet on my morning visit but on a drab November Thursday the whole area wasn't exactly buzzing.
The long bar along one side has two sets of five hand pumps which on my visit had the two GK Beers, Doom Bore, two "Available Soon", four beers from the previous festival and Ringwood Fortyniner.I went for the Wychwood Nordic Noir, an International oatmeal stout that was in excellent condition. It cost the festival price of £1.89, the usual standard guest ale price being £2.05.
Overall I thought this was a decent Spoons but I dare say that the fact it's a Lloyds would put it off limits after 21:00.

Pretty much a large square box on one of Rugby's main shopping streets. Several of the beers had "coming soon" signs on them, but when I found a beer that was on and that I wanted to drink, it was a well kept pint. If you've run out of JDW vouchers then there's a small discount for CAMRA members on production of your card. I had breakfast here one morning and it was well cooked and presented and served quickly as well. A good, solid JDW, but not particularly interesting in any way.
