After a number of years in the doldrums, with a landlady who couldn't be bothered, especially with cleaning, I'm pleased to report the rebirth of the Hole In The Wall. It's been taken over by a new landlord & landlady, both of whom were very pleasant & chatty. The place has been given a much needed deep clean and now sparkles like a new pin. There are now 6 handpumps on the bar, four of which were on selling beers from the extended Marston's range. The pint of Wychwood Wychmyst that I had was in excellent condition. They now have acoustic music sessions a couple of nights a week and they also do food at lunchtimes. It's still early days, but it looks very promising for the future now. A bit of good news on the Scarborough pub front for a change.Well done guys and the best of luck.

This place used to be a "must visit" on the Scarborough drinking circuit. It now appears to have fallen on hard times. The beer range is much reduced and the quality isn't as good as it used to be. Still a bit of a quirky place though with a quirky crowd to go with it. Try it, you might like it.

A true hidden gem. Fantastic cask ales and a great selection of music on the jukebox. Occasional open mic nights take place here and (decor overlooked) a really cracking pub.
