General Staal left this review about Suffield Arms

The Suffield Arms is a Georgian building painted white with red details. It has a large garden at the rear and a patio area at the front.

Internally, there is a large bar area and a large restaurant. The bar has a small area, partitioned off with four tables in it, pushed together end to end to make two twos. If this little area was full, it may be difficult to move here.

There was a darts board to the right of the entrance and a very large empty space, except for the 'sectioned off' area just described. There were barstools, but apart from that, the bar area was empty of furniture. I was told by the barmaid that a pool table had been removed because a band had been on the day before, so I can only assume that the rest of the furniture was waiting to be brought back.

The separate restaurant area had a relatively low ceiling with suspended lights with a silent piano in the middle.

Throughout, the pub was decorated in light colours.

Mrs Staal and I came to eat as well as drink. I initially sat in the 'sectioned off' part of the bar to eat, but a family with children soon came in and being a miserable sod, I suggested to Mrs Staal that we go to eat in the restaurant.

As well as the usual stuff, there were four real ales - Woodforde's Wherry, Adnam's Bitter, Hopback Summer Lightning, and Suffield Bitter (brewed by Courage). I tried the Wherry, Summer Lightning and Suffield Bitter, all were very nice.

Mrs Staal and I enjoyed our food also.

The barmaid was very jovial and welcoming.

Having said this, I did not feel as comfortable in here as I did in the other pubs I visited. And this was not because of the children in the pub.
