Alan Winfield left this review about The River Inn

The River was in a quiet area of ancoats and it was named this because the pub backed onto the river Medlock.
Once inside this was a decent enough pub with a couple of rooms i had a drink in the lounge which was fairly smart and also comfy on a very cold day.
The pub was a Burtonwood tied house and there was only one real ale on the bar this was Burtonwood bitter and this was a nice drink.
Sadly this pub has closed down but it is still standing and looking very sorry for its self.
