Visited 11/08/26. Visited previously 07/08/19.

Cask here was five hand pumps dispensing three of their own, Abbot, IPA and the seasonal Old Dandy Hen a pale ale plus then TT LL and Olde Trip from Hayes & Hanson. A typical keg offering of Guinness, Amstel, Aspall, Estrella Galicia, Jubel Peach, Level Head, Flint Eye lager, Hazy Day, Moretti and Peroni.

Typical street corner boozer in this part of Central London. GK establishment and decent standing space out the two street facing sides. Inside it is bare boarded with a chessboard pattern tile area around the entrance and the skirt along the bar counter, which is along the rear wall, otherwise bare boarded. Usual mix of regular and tall tables but with a good amount of standing space for vertical drinking. There is a pillar in front of the bar that provided a good spot to perch my pint on in a busy venue. There is an upstairs seating area, but I didn't venture up to check out, can imagine it would be mostly turned over to diners. There is a solitary dining table up a couple of steps before the longer climb to the first-floor seating area. Busy with a mix of tourists and post work drinkers on my early evening visit ahead of a curry in Veeraswamy nearby!

Rebuilt in 1892 on the site of the early 18th century Harp and unsurprisingly, run by Greene King.
Roughly half wood panelled, the walls are smoky blue Anaglypta. On high, the ceiling was clad in what appeared to by brown quarry tiles of some sort. The bar front is panelled and could be original as could be the fairly ornate bar back with some etched and cut-glass mirrors, the name picked out in gold. The floor is modern boarded, lighting is Victorian in style and furniture is traditional, mainly tall, to take advantage of the limited drinking space, with some stools to window drinking ledges. There’s little in the way of décor, save for a few framed prints and music is banal; transient customers come as no surprise.
Ales: three unused pumps, GK IPA and Landlord at a relatively reasonable £2.85 and nice.
This is probably one of the better pubs in the area, but that doesn’t mean it’s good, but I’d prefer it out of necessity if in the area, suffering from an unquenchable thirst.

A carbon copy of The Glassblower over the road, identical beers and menu, wont bother again.
