Dating from 1776, this is supposedly Marylebone’s oldest pub, known as the Bricklayers’ Arms until 2011.
The pub’s website describes the place as ‘rustic’, whereas I’d describe the interior as being traditional, modern and inoffensive. You can get a drink and stand at the bar, as I suspect that tables will typically be reserved, however, it’d be inadvisable for anyone to try and drink at it unless they are over 5’ 6”, such is the height. The other problem is that the distance between bar front and the nearest tables leaves a narrow gap, meaning that you get jostled every time a waiter walks past, which is often. Another problem is the acoustics, which are terrible; it’s like white noise.
Doom was available on one pump at the end of the bar, but daftly, the pump nearest the entrance, the one customers will see first, is unused. a Neck Oil rolled in at £3.30 a half.
This may be a good restaurant, albeit a noisy one, but it’s really not a place to drink, so I won’t be returning.

One room front for drinkers and the rear room for diners. Bar to right with two hand pumps - Doombore and another weak real ale. Some outside seating. Not the best of places.

Nice rest/pub with outside seating.Long one room area mostly for dining but the have a handpump with Head in a Hat -topee as the regular beer.Worth a visit.
