Bucking Fastard left this review about The Prince of Wales

Traditional exterior, the interior has been modernised and has a large darts throw in the right section with some regular tables and chairs,a central bar,the left section having the feel of a dining area with upright wooden chairs and square tables while further along is a small pool room. There are pic nic benches outside, firstly under an awning then at a higher level beer garden.
The flatscreens were playing a modern version of Robot Wars from a commercial tv station,no sports coverage here. The muzak was an annoying mix of calypso and Irish folk but the breakfast menu looked great value starting at £4.25 offered 10am -1pm,while regular pub grub with chips at other times.Pleasing to see cobs on dispay on the bar top.It is most certainly a local but the greeting was warm.
Three handpumps but only unbranded Marston's Lighter Nights was offered (Cheap at £3.20,developed a tang on the way down,NBSS 2)
Popular with regulars but not enough to demand a revisit.

Will Larter left this review about The Prince of Wales

A former multi-roomed pub opened out (evidence: a fireplace at each end of the single main room) and with small rooms in extensions at the left (pool table) and right rear (darts). The centrally situated bar has three hand pumps, with Wainwright and Eagle the beers on offer. I went for the latter, which was in good condition. This is a locals pub, with friendly service and associations with local sports clubs (rugby and football) keeping it at the heart of the community.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Prince of Wales

Busy local on the east side of town, comprising a compact 'U'-shaped layout supplemented by a pool room at the back of the right-hand arm and another room off to the left side. Semi-traditional furniture and basic decor in all parts, but the roaring log-burner was a welcome feature on a late-November evening. Also home to several local sporting teams, one of which was having an event when I stopped by. Unfortunately, no real ale from the three handpumps, so made do with a John Smith's (£3.10) before moving on.
