Colin Walker left this review about The Coaledge Tavern

Coaledge Tavern sits under a mile from Crossgates and just of an old road to Aberdour. It is worthwhile going down this road as there are excellent views of the River Forth and the Bridges at Queensferry. I met the propiertier of the pub (Whose name is above the door) who was stocking up his cellar and we chatted about the pub industry. He said that the rural pubs of which this is one are a dying trade. If one visits this pub you will not be disappointed with its interior. A large horseshoe bar greets you as you enter the place and there is plenty of seating at the bar and throughout. A large open fire is at the side. A complete home from home certainly appeals to this pub. I asked the propiertier if it was okay to take a picture of his pub and he obliged by moving his car to give a better picture of the place. Not a busy pub but well worth searching out for its character. Parking is available on the quite busy street.
