An update. This former coaching inn, being over 170 years old, has re-opened in May 2021 as The Dundonald Guesthouse and Cottage. Unfortunately, the bar is for residents only.

Planning permission for conversion to dwellings was granted in 2008 but work has stalled, according to http://www.buildingsatrisk.org.uk/details/916050. The hanging sign has been removed but can be seen through a ground floor window, leaning against a wall.
