Get the feeling this may go the way of the Goathland Hotel..... read the tripadvisor reviews for what happens when TV and pubs combine.

This is the pub used in Ted Lasso. They have Richmond AFC scarves behind the bar and a sign on the front saying "Music is Life". A play on the catch phrase used from the show.

As a result, the bar on a Saturday afternoon was packed with people not necessarily ordering drinks but taking selfies, from multiple angles. I didnt mind, as I was a tourist myself, but I can imagine it would be annoying if it was your local.

Beautiful pub, with great views over Richmond Green. ESB was in fine form. I did try to eat here but even though the restaurant area was free of punters - a claim was made that all tables were booked from 2pm. More likely, they didnt want to have a solo rambler taking up one of the spaces.

Fortunately, the Cricketers was next door - which was a stunning find!

Fullers tied house, with good brown glazed exterior tiling but with an interior that has been modernised and lacks charm. The front section has dark wood flooring and a long bar ,any previous sub division into a public and saloon is long gone. There is a small restaurant to the rear right and you can walk around the interior to find a rear section before the high tables reappear down the side with windows over the alley.
It's opposite the Green and cricket pitch and has seating outside, but the long flex handing light bulbs over the bar and a dirge soundtrack of R&B crap lowers the tone inside.
Fullers London Pride,Hophead and ESB are the regulars,I had a Dark Star Galaxy Haze at £3.35 the half ! and didn't taste the 6.5% ABV (NBSS 2.5).
I much prefer the Sun not far away ,this pub is full of tourists on the Ted Lasso trail (only the exterior shots are of the pub, interior shots studio based) and has a very transient customer base.

Spacious Fullers pub with an envious position facing Richmond Green which has been well described by other reviewers. Four Fullers Ales on for our visit with Pride, ESB, Oliver’s Island and the current seasonal which I can now not remember.
We did visit on a fine balmy evening which makes this one a good choice for Alfresco drinking and we parked ourselves on the pavement section outside. But during fine weather they will ask you if you intend taking drinks onto the Green itself as they will serve in plastic if you do.
Good pub with a good location.

Blackthorn _ left this review about The Princes Head

A good sized and prominent looking pub, it occupies a plot right on the corner of Richmond Green. A porch at the corner entrance has etched glass bearing inscriptions for the saloon and public bar, so it was presumably at one time separate rooms but has now been opened out in to a single U-shaped room.

Décor wise it’s quite elegant, with quite a bit of dark wood panelling on the walls although some of this had been painted dark brown. A couple of plasma screens were showing a football match which jarred somewhat, but fortunately the volume was off so these were not too intrusive. The flooring was wooden boards and there were a few old black and white photos of the locale and the nearby river on the walls. The right had leg of the pub had a slightly less formal feel with cream wood panelling and a small fireplace. This was separated from the main area of the pub by some partitioning that included some stained glass. A smaller room at the rear was quiet cosy, but perhaps more intended for dining.

The menu offered a decent looking selection of pub grub dishes with options such as fish & chips, burger, pie, curry, sausage cassoulet etc., and these were mostly priced somewhere around £12/£13.

Beers on tap were all from the Fullers stable with their ESB, London Pride, Red Fox and Oliver’s Island. The solitary cider was Cornish Orchards.

A Fullers pub on a corner of Richmond Green, the wooden floor and wall panelling sets the scene for this traditional locals pub.Obviously once a two bar pub, now opened out, there are two entrance doors ,the glass of one etched with the legend "Public Bar" the other of course "Saloon Bar". Eight Handpumps in all dispensed Fullers offerings of Pride, ESB,Oliver's Island and Jack Frost along with a guest of Joules Special Reserve. There was some low level music in the background, not intrusive, a decent local crowd with maybe a smattering of out of towners, myself included and dogs were also welcomed but again unintrusive. A decent and comfortable pub.

PRINCES HEAD: the best pub in Richmond! :o) Even at this time of the year, when the cold nights are rolling in, the Princes Head always gives a warm+friendly welcome! (And you can't say that about too many pubs these days)! A traditional pub, with traditional grub (if you so require!) and 2 x tv's to watch the sport, while you sup &banter with the good folk of the parish. This is a multi-denominational pub, Earthlings, vegans, £50 notes and Vulcans are all welcome. I even saw a Klingon in the 'PH' one time, he hadn't been in here boldly before, he had a star-date but got stood-up! Too much ESB i guess..! :o) TJ

Good folk of Richmond... let it be known, that The Princes Head public house is officially (in my book) the BEST pub in Richmond..! Shock+awe..!! Right on Richmond Green, only a river view would better its location. The staff are always attentive and efficient. The beer and wines are good and more often above average. The food is good. If you like cricket you can sit and watch a local team play, whilst supping your pint; or watch a live game of football/or rugby on the t.v. screens. Or if its cold out, sit near a real log fire, and warm up with a brandy or a J.D.+ginger ale...!! :o) I'm missing the PH already..!! If you're drinking in Richmond you MUST pop into the 'Princes' as a benchmark for all the pubs you visit. Some interesting characters frequent this establishment. I have never had a 'dull' drinky here. :o) TJ

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Princes Head

A well-located Fullers pub which retains a pleasingly traditional feel despite the inevitable refurbishments and layout alterations. A series of rooms has been partially opened out to leave various different seating areas around the central bar. There are also some patio benches at the front. Beer-wise, there are two banks of four handpumps offering Pride, ESB, Chiswick and a seasonal (Gales Spring Sprinter at £3.35, and very good too). Overall, the view across Richmond Green on a sunny day is reason enough to pause for a pint, but even on a dull day it is worth popping in for a visit.

Occupying an enviable location overlooking the Green this large pub has a central bar with drinking areas to the front and side and a dining area off a more secluded spot at the back of the pub. Comfortable having wooden floors with large rugs, mostly traditional style seating although there are the odd sofa or two around the back. Olive green and some more traditionally stained wood panelling, old photos, river scenes and a couple of River Thames maps. A side area is semi-seperated by a leaded glass screen.
Fullers beers, Pride, Chiswick, ESB and a well kept Bengal Lancer on offer on Saturday. A few people eating in the back room, run of the mill prices for the area eg steak and ale pie at £8.95, sandwiches £5.25, hot baguettes £7.50.
The TV was showing Soccer Saturday muted while background level music played.
A nice spot and as has been said probably very good on a warm summer evening.
