Situated on a prominent corner position on the edge of Richmond Green, the Princes Head is a Fullers managed pub that is much larger than it looks from the outside.

Etched glass in the entrance doors reveal that this was once a multi-roomed pub. Now it's a single bar pub that has been tastefully extended at the back to create several linked food orientated areas. Pleasingly though, it still remains, first and foremost, a pub, with a small band of regulars often occupying the narrowish bar area at the front overlooking the green. Despite some inevitable refurbishment over the years, lowish ceilings and wood panelling mean that it has retained a reasonably traditional feel, although it can feel a bit dark and grey at times.

The pub really comes into its own in the summer months when Richmond Green acts as an unofficial beer garden. There's few better ways to spend a lazy sunny summer evening than sitting on the green with a pint of Pride and a takeaway from the chippy in nearby King Street, watching the pub's own cricket team do battle with a rival pub.

The pub has not been in the Good Beer Guide for ages now, but the London Pride and Chiswick are usually in reasonable nick.

I think if I had one criticism of the pub, it's of the rather transient nature of most of the staff - plus those awful corporate black shirts that they have to wear.

This is still one of Richmond's better pubs.

This is a Fuller’s pub, so expect the usual ales to be available. The prices are a bit more wallet friendly than the nearby Sun Inn, with Chiswick at £2.75 a pint. This is OK as a pub, but there’s a bit too much battleship gray on the inside for my liking. There’s a couple of large TV monitors on the walls – tuned to Sky Sports, but muted so that we could enjoy the banal pop music being played. Furnishings are normal tables and chairs, with tall stools at the bar. Overall, it seems to be a pretty ordinary pub by any standards with nothing special about it, except perhaps the lovely setting right by Richmond Green. But my pint of Chiswick was pretty good, and I quite enjoyed my tuna sarny with a salad garnish and a few crisps (for £4.95). I wouldn’t rush back, but there are many much worse pubs about. I suppose on a nice day it would be quite pleasant enjoying a good pint sitting outside looking out over the Green.

Very comfortable Fullers pub overlooking Richmond green. The Pride was in tip top condition and I would assume all the other Fullers beers would be likewise.Food looks very substantial. Gets very busy in the summer when you can take your pint onto the green and watch a game of cricket.

This pub is in a nice location facing Richmond green and the pub also looks quite nice from the outside.
Once inside the pub was fairly smart and comfortable and it is a Fullers tied house, there were three real ales on the bar i had a drink of Fullers Chiswick bitter and this was a very nice drink the other beers were London Pride and ESB.
I thought this was a decent pub to have a few drinks in.
