Alan Winfield left this review about The George

The George is a large looking pub that is handily placed at the bottom of the station approach road.
Once inside the main bar room is to the front and is squarish shaped with the bar facing, the floor is carpeted, the seating is pew seats and normal tables and chairs and tables with small stools.
There were four real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Salopian Lemon Dream, which was a decent drink, the other real ales were Hobsons Town Crier,Thwaites Wainwright and Brakspear Oxford Gold.
There is a separate dining room up two steps to the rear.
Background music was playing.
This is a smart and comfortable pub to have a drink in.

Friendly pub opposite the SVR , modern in style , very fod led .
Service was good with the usual kegs and a mixture of Marstons and local micros on handpull , my Hobsons Town Crier was very good .
Another decent pub in a town with plenty of good pubs .

Andy Ven left this review about The George

The interior of this place has a contemporary feel to it with inset ceiling lights, beige carpet and a light coloured wood bar. The layout is open with a raised dining area to the right hand side. After an afternoon of ale sampling we came here to eat and the food was very good, above the standard of typical pub grub. Background music was playing. We had a good evening.

On handpull there was Brakspear Oxford Gold, Marston’s Old Empire, Hobson’s Town Crier and Three Tuns Mild. I’d happily return here if I was looking for an evening meal with friends in Bridgnorth.

Large detached pub, in cream render, recently refurbished and named after George I for some reason and formerly the Hollyhead Inn.

The interior is modern and yellow in decor, with wood beams, a nice fire place and some carved wood panel and tables. The seating has plenty of comfy chairs around. The music was easy listening and a decent level, service was fine, but there was nobody else in.

Beer, usual tap stuff with Cocker Hoop, Crag Rat, Banks's Bitter and MILD on handpull. The MILD was fine.

It seems the place has try to re-invent itself and so i wish them well. Beer choice is fine, just the interior isnt to my personal taste.
