Everards pub which hides its exterior light under a bushel – you could easily not twig it is a pub at a glance. Not much to get excited about inside with just the two Everards on (so not a Project William now) but my Old Original was GBG quality (NBSS 3.5). 6 Music dads watching the football and talking about Belle & Sebastian. Also a collection of bells on display, neat segue. There's a flicker fire under the telly - gas not real sadly. Piano, darts, cobs. Nothing wrong with it, would use if I lived 10 mins away but equally there’s little to make me do the 20 minute walk up the hill now I have been in the once and drunk a bellyful of Everards ales over the past 18 months anyway.

There's refurbishment ongoing here, even as I drink (and you can smell the DIY!). 3 of the 4 pumps are offering up Everard's brews (Tiger plus two specials), as well as a couple of ciders. A few crafty options extend the range beyond your Madri and whatnot.

The Horseshoes is a trek, or traffic-delayed bus in my case, from the bright lights of central Nuneaton, though you need to check the opening times (4 o'clock today, for example).

It's good for a pint or two and was proving popular with a local crowd at 5pm on a Thursday afternoon in late January.

On the ring road - no entry from the front door - access is from the rear car park.

Looks like it is a Everards House - no signage on the front - it simply says "real food and beer" but it was just Everards on Cask.

The Tiger was in fine condition.
