Golf clubhouse, but the sign outside says 'walkers welcome' with another polite notice on the door asking for muddy boots to be taken off. Anyway, it is set in a fine position atop the South Downs, with the lounge's picture windows and compact patio... [more>] |

Multipurpose community facility at the top end of Malling Rec with a small café / bar / open to all. Multicoloured modern furniture and picture windows inside, and some wooden benches out on the patio terrace. Something of a joint venture with the ... [more>] |

Looks like a traditional village pub, but it now seems to have something of a Caribbean feel given the background music and some of the menu. Anyway, it has a partly opened-out L-shaped layout with several different seating and dining areas but all ... [more>] |

1930s housing-estate pub that appears to retain many traditional features in the partly opened-out, multi-room layout. Pleasingly traditional look enhanced by the half-height dark wood-panelling, although I guess younger people might find it a bit g... [more>] |

Corner pub with simple brewers' Tudor upper facades. Inside, the vestibule forms part of an angled 'L'-shaped bar, with a pool table at the other end. There is also an opening through to a quieter snug. Limited décor and a mix of furniture, but th... [more>] |

New cask ale and craft beer bar, probably a bit big to be a micro-pub as the rear room with the counter is much larger than the front seating area that you initially see through the windows. Quite plainly decorated, with relatively modern furniture.... [more>] |

Now just the Diamond - a rather anonymous restaurant and bar, set down a few steps within a semi-modern building. Tidy enough (but devoid of other customers on a Monday evening inside), and the upstairs room was completely empty. Limited standard ... [more>] |

Artisan. Recently renamed from the Cyder & Cobb, but I guess that things haven't changed too much as the previous branding is still visible on some of the small table-tops, etc. Still has four cask ales on handpump - with Hobsons Pale, Redemption's... [more>] |

Modern bar under a high ceiling, with a tall bar-back mostly full of LP records on one side and a small stage at the end. However, the seating in the lower part of the slightly split-level layout is quite dispersed so there's some room for post-work... [more>] |

Large modern bar with bland corporate furniture and décor, rather mis-marketed by Greene King as a 'traditional pub'. Having said that, it is used to be one of the better places for cask ale in the immediate area, although just IPA and Old Speckled ... [more>] |
