Now just called Rocks. 28/4/16: A bit of a strange place. Part Mexican themed, part music themed, part tavern like. The decor is, I'm guessing, mostly Mexican taverna with plenty of Latino style pictures and bumpf dotted around. A mural above the do... [more>]

A new pub for crafty ales. It has an L-shaped, single roomed interior. The fixture and fitting are made up of a mish-mash of chairs and tables with high chairs, sofas, armchairs, rocking chairs and key keg chairs. Stone floored and bare brick walled ... [more>]

Popped in again just before Christmas - no problems with my Dark Star Hophead. The decor has settled in a bit and this seems to be a good destination. 7.5 December 2015 (as Queen Charlotte) Blagged our way in on opening night. Has had a thorough goi... [more>]

A good visit before Xmas, with the full W&E range available and the Conqueror and Mandarin drank well. Forgot about the silly goblet glasses though. Absolutely rammed, so the locals are obviously on-board too. This is now the Eton (and Windsor!) dest... [more>]

Sadly it didn't work out as well as I'd hoped. Took too long to revisit and this time there was just the one W&E on - Guardsman - which was so-so. Otherwise I think it was Pride. December 2015 Seems to have some changes for the better in here. Whils... [more>]

A lacklustre W&E Canberra before Xmas which was a sad way to end the session. Does seem to be a bit hit-and-miss on the beer side, unfortunately. December 2014 Nine Christmasses on from my last visit, I popped in to see if the place still manages to... [more>]

The usual internal decor from this chain as you'd expect, which works for their brand, obviously. No real ale - a 330ml bottle of Punk IPA cost me £4.55. The old school Americana muzak is great as always, as are the Italian lessons in the Gents', but... [more>]

Around the back of Aylesbury's Market Square, this was for many years a rough boozer named The Dark Lantern. This is now a gay club / pub named 'Mango'. |
