An 18th Century roadside pub, originally a coaching inn. It’s now a very friendly village local which attarcts only occasional passing trade due to its unobtrusive and unostentatious setting. There is a tight car park which is easily misssed, and a... [more>]

One narrow room with bar to rear left. Fridge to right. One weak real ale pump, rest craft. As per normal - way too cold. Could be better.

Already well reviewed so I'll stick with saying that it's a large brewery tap with a Thai restaurant in a large, oddly soulless building. For me though, as a fan of Oakham beers, it's been a must visit for some time so I was pleased to slide in for a... [more>]

There were a couple of ales on here - Felinfoel Double Dragon and Robinson's Dizzy Blonde, as well as 7.2% Black Dragon cider. I didn't see any sign of food on my Saturday afternoon visit. This is another out of the way pub in this part of the world... [more>]

A fun, friendly and trendy micropub bang in the centre of town. It's an old shop premises with tables and chairs outside which was where most of the clientele were situated on a warm Sunday evening. The service is friendly, knowledgeable on the ale f... [more>]

This pub is essentially unchanged since Steve's visit some eight years ago. As I was in at Sunday lunchtime all the tables, apart from one just in front of the bar counter as you enter, were laid for diners. While my chum and I enjoyed a relaxing pin... [more>]

As Steve says below, this still has the appearance of a bogstandard town centre pub; it has all the appearance internally of a downmarket Taylor Walker or Stonegate pub. But it did have three ales on - Brain's Rev James; St Austell Tribute, and Doom ... [more>]

Really good boozer - both modern feel and traditional feel - decorated to a high standard. Central bar splits a front bar and a back lounge. Bathams amongst the beers on. Recommended. Visit blogged at http://bit.ly/2OWZD7W
