Still a Butcombe pub, though it’s now much touristy than previously and concentrates more on feeding grockles than being a local pub. There are several B&B chalets, and there is a large modern car park over the road. The internal layout is still as... [more>] |

A fine looking building, beautifully located opposite Madeley Pool. As with many modern Joules pubs, it's hard to tell what is original and what reproduction, but in this instance the building was badly damaged by fire, so any fakery is fully justifi... [more>] |

Fairly basic town centre pub doing a brisk lunchtime trade. Four hand pumps with just Abbot and Hobgoblin Gold on. I went for a half of the former, which was pretty good (NBSS 3, £4.70/pint). There are several different seating areas, with some old f... [more>] |

Two hand pumps on the bar, one with a reversed pump clip from Purple Moose Brewery. Apparently they usually have one of this fine brewery's beers on, but after a busy weekend just gone, there was none left. It was lively and friendly here at 6pm on m... [more>] |

I've been to Corris a couple of times, but due to bad planning had never found the pub open. Made a special effort this time, staying at a camp site down the valley. The front room is as described below, with high tables challenging my climbing abili... [more>] |

The pub still has a proper boozer feel despite several TV screens on the go. An L shaped room mimicking the external corner pub layout, six handpumps but just a couple working with a choice of Doom Bar and Sambrooks Pumphouse on offer. |

A fairly large brew pub I happened upon unintentionally whilst misreading my directions, but pleased I did. The Bar counter is a long traditional pub style bar and beer is dispensed by tap via the brewery tanks visible to the rear of the pub, ten in ... [more>] |
