Dolphin Hotel

Dolphin Hotel

SeatonDevon

Recommended by E TA

Primarily an hotel, still operated by Hall and Woodhouse. The reception desk is now at the bar in the back room as described below, the polite young barman doubling up as the receptionist. Still two handpumps on the rather cluttered bar, bu only on... [more>]
The Oddfellows Arms

The Oddfellows Arms

DunstableBedfordshire

Recommended by The Chairman

Popped on on a Monday afternoon, and it was 'Monday Club' with beers on sale at £3.45 a pint. Had an Otter Bitter, which seems to be a regular beer, and found it most enjoyable. Two other beers were on offer on handpump - Greene King Scrumdown pale a... [more>]

Sizeable village pub with outdoor seating at the front. On the bar were four handpumps but the only ale was Greene King IPA, with the other three offering ciders from Lilley's. The IPA was OK but nothing special and served slightly on the cold side. ... [more>]

On a Monday lunchtime the pub had a reasonable level of custom with a few people dining but some just drinking. On offer on the bar were six handpumps with two offering ciders, and four ales. I chose the Taylor's/Northern Monk Northern Rising Unity S... [more>]

With this pub having made the Good Beer Guide I felt the need to investigate. I arrived just after 2.45pm, which was unfortunate as it didn't open until 3pm (seasonal hours). So, with a bus to catch at 3.10, it was only going to be a quick half. Four... [more>]

The Five Lamps

DerbyDerbyshire

Recommended by Peter Forster

A roomy open plan pub that manages to have a cosy feel to it. Lots of well placed seating and low lighting helps. A wide choice of beer and the one I had was excellent. Sadly too far along in the pub crawl to remember what it was. This was the sort o... [more>]
The Norman King

The Norman King

DunstableBedfordshire

Recommended by The Chairman

The Norman King was being refurbished in 2011 when it was destroyed by fire after an arson attack (the perpetrator was later jailed). The damage was too severe to allow any of the building to be saved, and it was demolished.

Pool Dole

Pool Dole

Stoke-On-TrentStaffordshire

Recommended by Strongers .

Pool Dole is an estate and sports pub in a residential area far enough north of Longton to ensure that not many out-of-towners like me ever visit. To the left is a laminate floored public bar with seating up the left in between a pool table to the fr... [more>]
