A large corner pub on a busy high street. The large bar is contiguous, mostly carpeted. There is a games/function area at one end where live music acts regularly attract and entertain the customers. Cheap pub grub and Sunday roasts are on offer. The décor is basic and functional, unpretentious in the extreme. There are gaming machines and a pool table, and BT WiFi is available. There is a definite local feel to the place, almost a family atmosphere, surprising given its location. The customers come in all shapes and sizes, and the staff are friendly. There were two ales on: I had a pint of Dogs Bollocks which was much too cold and lacked flavour. Probably OK for the entertainment, if you like that sort of thing, and a useful drop-in if passing.

Cheap refurbishment summer 2017, food poor, small portions ( due to Marstons policy. all portions have to be weighed ) No decent ale, a couple of ciders in boxes but these are not chilled. They do not take complaints seriously, just laugh behind your back. Not recommended.
