E TA left this review about White Hart Inn

A 17th century house currently owned by Hall and Woodhouse. It is a pleasant roadside inn with an interesting history, easy to drive past because of its relatively discreet siting. There is limited parking at the back and a small, untidy garden with seats and tables. The inside is quite unspoilt – the floor is brick, some of which is covered with carpet, while the ceiling is supported on low beams, some of which are relatively new. The bar counter is wooden, but again quite new. There are no electronic distractions, no jukebox, gaming machines, TV or WiFi. There were several sports trophies on display, but I couldn’t see a dartboard so it was well hidden. There is a bookcase offering a selection of paperback novels and a display case with an interesting collection of spirit miniatures. An inglenook fireplace completes the picture, giving an overall air of a cosy, comfortable, nostalgic shed. The landlady was quite eccentric and chatty, while the clientele seems to consist mainly of locals, a surprise given the location. Basic pub grub was on offer. There were 2 ales on draft and a selection of Badger beers in bottles. I had a pint of First Call which was a good enough pint, quite enjoyable. Nice to drop in for a swift one on the way to the airport or the nearby garden centre.
