Previously a Thai restaurant, this is now mainly a Sri Lankan bistro that sells keg beers and cider. The single room consists of a small seating area at the front, which is partly a waiting area for diners partly for drinkers. There are various murals on the walls, and the ceiling is adorned with reed matting, all of which fails to give it a Sri Lankan vibe. It is not comfortable, the seats are low and there is no conviviality. There was loud pop music on the HiFi, and the staff, while functional, were fairly unengaging. The bar counter is in the middle, while behind this is a larger dining area overlooked by a raised mezzanine with more dining tables. They serve halal food so I personally wouldn’t eat there. No cask ale or real cider, and the keg range on this visit was Henry Weston’s Cider, Menabrea, Hawkstone IPA and Red Stripe, all at higher price than are justified. Not one I’d recommend as a place to get a drink, and probably one of the least attractive diners in this area.
