A pleasant cafe bar with ample outside seating with views across the bay, at least when the weather allows. Inside, there is a single irregular room with the bar counter in one corner. The staff were welcoming, and the clientele were at least tolerable, mainly elderly couples, so there was no great rush or fuss here. Dogs are allowed in, unlike some other nearby businesses. No cask ale or real cider, unfortunately, just a choice between Devon Red, Camden Stout and Peroni, but as a lunchtime refresher this was perfectly adequate. It’s nice enough as a cafe but lacks the features of a proper pub, so while I’d be happy to pop in for a cuppa and a snack, it’s not somewhere for a crawl or an evening’s libation.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Tide
New café and bar in a prime spot with benches out on the front terrace beside the Esplanade overlooking the beach. Modern furniture and decoration inside. A 'house' lager (of uncertain, but apparently local, origin), Salcombe Pale Ale, Veronica and Devon Red cider available from four keg taps on the bar-back.
