The Country House is a local’s pub off the main drag away from the town centre. The bar is L shaped with a dartboard and a pool table which both had lists of people by them for upcoming competitions on Tuesdays and Thursdays respectively. There is another seating area to the right of the bar but the lights were out during my recent Wednesday evening visit. To the right of the entrance are a couple of sofas, but there isn’t much seating space in the bar. Only standard draught was available and half of them were off. I ordered a Fosters that was drawn through the Kronenburg tap so I have no idea what was actually available.
There are steps up to the entrance and some picnic tables out the front overlook a car park.
I found it all a bit grim in here and I don’t plan to return.
