Lovely little Micro pub - with a few nice surprises.

Everything as you would expect from a converted shop next to a nail bar..... to add some uniqueness, there were several demijohns of 14% ciders - sold in halves - and a cake stand with a variety of pork pies.

That'll do for me - even if I wasnt brave enough to go for the cider :-)

Hop Back Summer lightening in fine condition.

The Cyder & Cobb sits within the main shopping area in Blackheath. It was easily the best of 3 Black Country micropubs we visited on a Saturday afternoon.

Despite its name, the pub does serve 4 real ales. These were Wye Valley HPA, Dancing Duck Waitangi, Mobberley Brewhouse IPA & Kelham Island Night Shift.

Ciders were Weston's Vintage & Cloudy Vintage, Lilley's Mango Cider, Pineapple Cider, Bee Sting Perry, Cheeky Pig, Somerset Scrumpy Dry, Cherries & Berries & Crazy Goat, along with their own Cyder & Cobb Fruit Salad. The friendly barmaid couldn't tell me who produced the Fruit Salad on their behalf, but I suspect it was simply a mixture of the Cherries & Berries and the Pineapple Cider. But the combination worked quite nicely.

It was also befitting that we tried their cobs, which come as a meal deal with a pint and a pack of crisps!

The interior has bench seating on either side of a central walkway leading to the bar. Being small in size, people were packed in, with most sharing tables. The atmosphere was friendly and lively with a mixture of locals out for an afternoon's (and possibly an evening's) drinking with a few beer tickers.

One of the best new pubs I have visited in the West Midlands for some time. I will return.

Popped in at the weekend for my first visit. Great little place and a welcome addition to Blackheath. 4 ales on - Jaipur, Tribute, Oakham Citra and one from Ludlow brewery. We went for the Jaipur which was excellent. I didn't have time to sample a cob but I will next time! Well worth a visit.
